ADVENTURE RACER, SKI MOUNTAINEER, MAGOG, CANADA
I’ve always been passionate about sports. After I moved to Orford in 2011 I fell in love with the mountains, climbing, trail-running, and of course skiing. At college I raced cross-country and started racing trails, shortly after I was wondering how I could keep on skiing but without using the chairlifts. Enter ski mountaineering! Initially, the idea was to search out sweet backcountry powder, but the Endurance Aventure crew and SkimoEast had other plans for me. They convinced me to start skiing with ultra-light gear when racing. After all, Skimo can be described as a mix of trail-running, cross-country skiing and alpine skiing… what could be better than to mix all three?
I started racing the SkimoEast series this year, trying to catch up with Georges Visser and Lyne Bessette… They should watch their backs next season! I’m looking forward to racing in Western Canada and in Europe, in La Grande Course circuit. I will also compete in the Grande Traversé d’Anticosti 2016 as well as the 300k at Raid International Gaspésie.
