TRAVELLING TRIATHLETE & TRAIL RUNNER, MONTREAL, CANADA
Growing up I was always the hyper kid who played all sports and was up for any challenge or adventure, the crazier and tougher the better! It hasn’t changed one bit.
I started triathlon about four years ago after a friend of the family started the Trifort de Chambly triathlon club, near where I live. Since then, I’ve grown from racing the Junior Elite national circuit to competing in longer distance events, which I enjoy much more.
In the past year, my interest for trail running has rocketed! I love the values of discovery, adventure and community that it promotes. I was recently selected for the Salomon Running Academy in Garmisch, Germany, for what turned out to be the best week of my life, along with 15 other young guns from 12 countries. What’s more, running legends, Anna Frost, Jonathan Wyatt and Greg Vollet lead the camp. The goal of the Salomon Running Academy is to seek out the next generation of trail runners and find young ambassadors to share the values and lifestyle of trail running. I learned so much as an athlete and also personally during that time. I’m now totally hooked and will be focusing on running trails even more!
2016 is once again a year of adventure, starting with some trail races in June, and the Mont-Tremblant Ironman 70.3. For the rest of the summer I will be living the sweet life, biking from Banff in Canada all along the west coast and down to the border of Mexico. I’ll be exploring the trails to run and waves to surf that I find along the way. Next Fall, I go back to college in Gaspésie (Eastern Quebec), a paradise for trail running and outdoor adventure!
For as long as I remember, I never thought I’d find a better sport nutrition product than Apricot FRUIT2. But the new Maple FRUIT2 bar came along and changed all of that. It’s now the essential part of my fueling, be it on long bike rides, speedy trail runs, or on the pool deck. I sometimes catch myself eating them as candy haha ;).
