Third time’s the charm — and the toughest yet.
This June, over 60 trail runners from across the province joined us for the third edition of On the Way to the QMT, our official shock-day prep event for Québec Mega Trail 2025.
Hosted by XACT Nutrition with help from incredible partners like Le Coureur Nordique, the day featured three free activities designed to help participants experience the terrain, test their limits, and get mentally (and nutritionally) ready for race weekend.
Mestachibo Recon – For the Brave Ones
Reserved for those racing the QMT-135, QMT-80, or QMT-50, this trail recon was all about facing the most infamous section of the course — the legendary Mestachibo trail.
This rugged, remote 3-hour section links Saint-Ferréol-les-Neiges to the Jean-Larose waterfalls at the base of Mont-Sainte-Anne. Technical, steep, and stunning, this was the real deal — and everyone who tackled it came back stronger (and maybe a little muddier).
QMT-25 Preview with Le Coureur Nordique
Big thanks to Le Coureur Nordique for guiding our QMT-25 preview run.
With limited spots and maximum good vibes, runners got a first-hand feel for pacing, elevation, and how to manage energy across the full 25 km course. Newer trail runners came away with a better understanding of the route — and a stronger sense of confidence going into race day.
D+ Party: Altitude, Ambassadors & Almond-Date Bars
We closed the day with a D+ Party at Mont-Sainte-Anne — complete with elevation gain, DJ beats, cheering, and product tasting. It was the perfect way to bring everyone together and celebrate the effort.
Participants also got an exclusive taste of our newest product: the XACT Endurance Almond & Date Bar.
Designed for long efforts, this all-natural bar delivers steady energy with a smooth texture that’s easy to eat — even on the toughest climbs.
“Super easy to eat, even on steep climbs.”
“Perfect for ultra distances — not too sweet, and it goes down smooth.”

Why We Do It
On the Way to the QMT isn’t just a trail run — it’s a way to support our community, help runners overcome uncertainty, and create a shared experience before the big day.
We’re proud to have welcomed runners from every corner of Québec, and we can’t wait to cheer them on again in July.
